When a member of KYAPS passes on, 300Ugx is deducted from every active account and a uniform amount of 5 million Ugx is taken to the lost member's family on the day of burial.
Any member who wants to leave the scheme is allowed to formally request withdrawal from the scheme and is then relieved from the charges of the scheme. But it means that the member who has withdrawn from the scheme does not qualify to get the 5 million Ugx when that member passes on.
This scheme considers courses not exceeding two years after O'level and this enables KYAPS to serve more needy students in the region. Only one student is chosen per region unless KYAPS does not get any qualitfying application from that region
The call for applications,the successful applicants' names, their parents/guardians and institutions per region are always published on different media channels. The KYAPS committee and the respective Regional Leaders visit all applicants in all the regions to establish their vulnerability
The individual scores/marks remains a preserve of the committee and not for the AGM
